Welcome!
Welcome to Introduction to Greek Mythology! My name is Ms. Callie Martin and I am so excited to begin this course with you. During our time together, we are going to explore the gods and goddesses of ancient Greece and the many stories that have passed down through the centuries and remain a part of our culture today.
Myths are stories that try to explain why something is the way that it is, have gods or goddesses with human feelings, teach a lesson, have magic, and come from different cultures. Greek mythology was so influential that we are still reading books and watching movies about it today! You know these characters!

In this class you will study different myths, learn about the gods, their lives, powers, relationships, struggles, and weird characteristics. You will watch several videos, play games, read stories, and do other online activities. By the time this class is over, I hope you will love Greek mythology as much as I do.
